I'd also like to know why this certain song.
I've had no more emails about suspicious logins, and I doubt anyone could have cracked a new password so quickly, so what's going on? Has someone breached Spotify's network? What can we do for extra security when changing passwords etc clearly isn't enough? Will we ever get 2FA? It happened 3 times within about 20 minutes. If not, you’ll need to use your Facebook credentials to log in. Obviously seeing this discomforted me so I immediately followed the steps provided above (changed password, forced logouts, revoked all 3rd party access - even ones I trusted) and had no more issues until tonight, when the song suddenly played again and my volume cut out. If you’re already logged into your Facebook profile, you’ll be prompted to allow Spotify to access your details.
Nearly every time it appeared, my volume would cut right out, but checking devices showed I was still playing it from my PC - so if someone else was on my account, they were only trying to get me to play this song without noticing? They clearly weren't doing it to listen for themselves. It's not a popular or interesting song, and I've never listened to it before, nor is it related to anything I have listened to. Nothing ever seemed to come of it, however I noticed one day that the same one song kept playing/being added to my queue. When Sign's frontman Ragnar Zolberg was 6 years old he walked into a guitar school in Iceland with a guitar case in his hand, dragging it on the floor because of his short height, dressed in ripped jeans and a leather jacket he asked for guitar lessons, something that would play a huge. There are no immediate plans to expand these changes globally, but we’ll keep our ears to the ground for the potential.I too got a sudden wave of those emails, about the same time this started for alyssa. Clearly, the streaming music market is a space that’s hyper-competitive currently and Google doesn’t want to be left behind. The change also aligns with Apples “voice only” plan announcement from its release event just a couple of days ago. If you do not yet use Facebook, you'll need to become a Facebook member before you can join Spotify.
Now we’re seeing further changes with free tier customers (again in Canada) losing the ability to watch videos.
This makes it extra easy and secure to log in to Spotify. But when want to log into Spotify by using third-party devices (such as the Sonos sound system), you need to use the device username that Spotify assigned.
Signing up with Google means you can log in with your Google account.
Last week we saw that Canadian residents will be able to background stream music on the free YouTube Music tier. How to use Google to log into Spotify, and what to do if it doesn’t work.
